JANA

Privacy notice

For buying and activation. Version of 12 October 2026, published ahead of release. This notice takes effect on the day the Jana 965 goes on sale. That day is to be announced, and until then nothing can be bought or activated.

This notice covers what happens when you buy the Jana 965 or a card, and when the plugin activates. Browsing this website collects nothing; that is on the legal page.

If you ask to be told at release

If you write to hello@janaaudio.com asking to be told when the Jana 965 is released, we keep your email address only to send you that one message, on the day it is released. We delete the address once the message is sent, or sooner if you ask. What we do with any other mail you send us is on the legal page.

Who is responsible

Talal Bouroki, trading as Jana Audio, a sole proprietor in Kuwait.

We are responsible for what our licence server keeps. FastSpring, as the merchant of record, is responsible for what it collects to sell to you and take your payment, under its own privacy notice.

When you buy

FastSpring runs the checkout. It collects what a sale needs, such as your email address, your country, your payment details, and what it needs for tax and to prevent fraud. We never see or store your card or bank details.

FastSpring passes us your name, your email address and the order: its number, what you bought and when.

Cookies

This website, janaaudio.com, runs no scripts and sets no cookies. The account pages at pay.janaaudio.com, where you sign in, see your account and activate a computer, set one cookie, and it is strictly necessary: after you use a sign-in link, it keeps you signed in. It holds a random number and nothing else, and it ends when you sign out or close the browser, or after 12 hours at the latest. The checkout is FastSpring's, and any cookies it sets there are FastSpring's, under its own privacy notice.

What our licence server keeps

Our licence server keeps the following, and nothing else:

It never receives your audio, your settings or sessions, which hosts or plugins you use, how you use the 965, your computer's name, or any hardware identifier.

The plugin goes online only when you press Buy, Activate, Check purchases or Deactivate, and sends only what that action needs; starting it never touches the network.

On your computer

Activating online writes one small file on your computer, the installation record: on macOS ~/Library/Application Support/Jana Audio/Activation/installation.json, on Windows %APPDATA%\Jana Audio\Activation\installation.json. It holds the random installation number, the label, a sign-in token for this computer, and which licence files activation put there. Delete it and the computer simply becomes a new installation; nothing else breaks.

Who else handles it

Your data goes to these recipients, and no others:

The hosting provider and the email service act only on our instructions, and your data may be stored and processed outside the country you live in.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, we do not use it for advertising, and we send no marketing email unless you ask for it.

Why we keep it

To issue and deliver your licence, activate your computers and let you manage them, answer your support questions, and deal with chargebacks, fraud and duplicate orders. For readers in the EU and the UK, the legal bases are the contract with you, our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse, and our legal obligations.

How long we keep it

Your rights, and deleting your data

Write to hello@janaaudio.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will answer within 30 days.

If we delete your account, the licence files you already have keep working, because they are checked on your own computer; we can no longer re-send them or activate computers for you online. After a deletion we keep only the order number and what it bought, without your name or email, where we need them to answer a chargeback.

What FastSpring holds, it deletes under its own notice; ask it directly, or ask us and we will pass the request on. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes
